Caving in Oman with the Middle East Caving Expeditionary Team

TRAKS recently invited Phil Bence, one of the best cavers in the world and also a member of the Petzl team.

Caving might not appear like a likely activity in a desert region, but there are quite a few very large cavities, and beautiful massive underground chambers.

The visit was a great opportunity for the Middle East Caving Expeditionary Team members to learn more about caving techniques, rescues on single ropes and share one of their favorite caves with Phil.

After several days of training at the TRAKS warehouse, the entire team headed down to 7th Hole on the Selmah plateau in Oman. A short video of the trip highlights the energy and enthusiasm of this amazing group.

If you are interested in caving, don’t hesitate to contact the welcoming people of MECET, they love sharing their passion of the underground with new members.
